Equ- comes from equus, the horse, and through the syllable "eque-" it also carries eques: rider. EQuelora thus refers to both sides of the connection.
-lora comes from lorum, the rein: the oldest means of communication between human and horse. In a sense, EQuelora is a modern rein — made of insight instead of leather.
