How EQuelora Companion works

Read it as a story, or pick just the steps. Tap a gold-marked phrase and you see how it works.

Account and language

Getting in without a password, and making the app your own.

You start with something you already have: your email address.

You never have to think up a password, so you can never forget one either.

Then you get acquainted. Lora is the assistant in the app — helpful, but not a friend and not a therapist, and she says so herself.

Would you rather read in another language?

Then a quick look around.

Under EQ you find the modules: Video Analysis, Academy, Community and Onward Pro.

And at the top right there are two buttons you will see everywhere.

Speaking, typing and reading aloud

Talk, type or listen — whatever suits the moment.

At the yard your hands are rarely free. That is why you can tell the app almost everything instead of typing it.

What happens to your words depends on where you are.

Want to get somewhere quickly? Just say it.

You can fill in a profile by speaking, too. And want to go to a particular field?

Rather type? You always can.

It works the other way round too: the app reads aloud.

Want every answer to be read out by itself? You also choose what you hear.

Then the voice itself.

Dossier and stories

A story is not a finding — but what you recognise in it counts.

Sometimes the app has a story for you, told by a horse. It is a story, not a judgement about your horse.

But a story can still show you something.

Tab HORSE

Everything about your horse in one place — and only on your phone.

Adding a horse takes one tap.

Then you fill in what you know, whenever it suits you.

Something no longer right? Speaking works here too: say what you want to fill in, and the right field opens.

Photos complete a profile.

And if a horse is no longer with you — sold, or retired — you don’t have to throw anything away.

Tab ASK

A question about your horse, with an answer that says what it rests on.

Unsure about feed, a habit, or how often the farrier should come?

An answer is only worth something if you know where it comes from.

If something comes from the app’s own knowledge, you also see how solid it is.

Look inside an answer, too.

Is your question about something that keeps changing?

Tab GROWTH

What you notice while grooming becomes a line over the months.

A single remark gets forgotten. Ten remarks in a row show what is changing.

Noticed something in the field, while tacking up, or during the ride?

That way the overview grows by itself.

A note no longer right?

Video Analysis

A piece of your ride, in words — and there to look back on.

While riding you can’t see yourself. Your instructor can, but isn’t always there — and what happened in that one trot is half forgotten an hour later. With Video Analysis the app looks at a piece of video of you and your horse, and puts into words what can be seen.

Have someone film you, or put your phone in a fixed spot by the arena. The better you film, the more there is to see.

Then choose the part that mattered: the transition that didn’t work, or the trot that felt good.

Then you choose how it is looked at. Got a question? Send it along. And fancy hearing something completely different?

You always know beforehand where you stand.

Your video is yours.

Riding in an outdoor arena without signal? You don’t have to wait.

Then the result. You can read it, or have it told to you. When the analysis talks about a moment, have a look yourself. And you are the one who knows your horse.

Seeing something you can’t let go of? The app does not diagnose — but a specialist can take a look.

If an analysis belongs to one of your horses, keep it with that horse. That way you can see later in Growth how it went.

Was your trainer not there, or do your parents want to see how it went?

Want to get rid of an analysis?

Academy

Short training videos, chosen by us.

Want to improve your seat, or learn to lunge your horse? There is often a good video about it already.

You simply keep watching. A video you want to see again, you keep close at hand.

Not every video is equally well founded, and you can see that at once.

Found a good one yourself?

Community

Horse films, for an evening on the sofa.

After a long day at the yard, a bit more horse time — but on the sofa.

Not everything is free.

A film to watch again?

Onward Pro

The way to a professional, when you need one.

Sometimes an app is not enough and you want someone to take a look: a vet, a farrier, a saddler.

Want to know whether someone is really registered?

Notifications and settings

You decide what the app tells you, and how it looks.

The app doesn’t want to overload you.

And you don’t need to see everything every day.

Make it a little bit your own, too.

Getting a new phone?

Subscription and Credits

What things cost, and where you see it.

Every question and every analysis takes computing work by an AI model. That is why the app works with Credits.

You always know where you stand.

Getting started costs nothing.

Backup and moving phones

Your dossier lives on your phone. This is how you don’t lose it.

Everything you record in EQuelora — your horses, your notes, your analyses and your photos — is on your own phone, not with us. That keeps your data close to you. But it also means: if your phone falls in the water trough, gets lost or you buy a new one, you don’t want to start over. That is what the backup is for: one file with everything in it, kept by you.

Making a backup takes a few seconds. Preferably don’t keep the file only on the same phone: in your email or cloud storage it stays safe even if that phone gives up.

Sometimes you don’t want to hand over everything, just one horse — because it is being sold, or because the new carer wants its profile. The file for one horse contains only that horse with its photos; your own details stay with you.

A backup only helps if it is recent, and everyone forgets now and then. So the app keeps track for you. Don’t want the reminder at all? Switch it off in Backup and export or in Notifications.

When you get a new phone, you might think signing in is enough. Here is how:

Two things to know. Videos do not go into the backup: they are in your gallery, and you make a copy of them yourself. And the file also contains what you wrote about your horse’s health and about yourself — be careful whom you give it to. On the iPhone, there is one more thing: if you delete the app, everything you kept in it is gone. Your backup is then the only way back.
